Electronics giant Maplin has invested heavily to refurbish its 205 UK stores – the first being its Strand showroom in central London.
Working closely with the Luceco design team, Maplin replaced existing Fluorescent technology, Metal Halide wall washers, track spot lights and emergency lighting with highly efficient LED products for the main store, window displays and back of house areas, to create a bright and inviting environment.
With 303 trade counters Screwfix have become the UK’s largest direct and online supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware products. Screwfix stores not only stock the Luceco lighting range, but have also embarked on a UK wide refurbishment programme installing these products throughout stores and offices to cut energy use and CO2 emissions.
Parent group, Kingfisher, have reduced their companies energy intensity by 10% since 2010/11 against their target of 45%.
Sony, the leading global manufacturer of audio, video, communications and information technology products have recently commenced refurbishment works at their UK offices – part of their continued drive to reduce their environmental footprint. Replacing over 1400 luminaries with Luceco products has reduced annual energy consumption by 68%.
UK newspaper giant and global digital media specialist dmg media worked selected Luceco highly efficient 34 watt LuxPanels.
They were installed in the new washrooms and service areas, replacing aging inefficient CFL lighting throughout the Northcliffe House site in central London. Specified for their quality and ability to reduce the companies energy consumption, the LuxPanels were also acknowledged for their ease of installation.
The highly efficient 600mm square 40 watt Luceco LuxPanels were chosen to replace the old 4x18 watt modular fittings. This resulted in energy consumption savings of almost 50% and with no maintenance costs for approximately 10 years (based on current operating hours). MFC have invested in this new lighting technology not only to enhance and improve the light levels but also to reduce both energy costs and C02 emissions.
Reducing CO2 emissions, saving energy and reducing maintenance were key objectives. By installing Luceco 600mm square LuxPanels (standard and emergency versions) the projected annual energy savings are over £4,000. Return on investment will be made within 4 years, with additional savings gained due to no maintenance costs.
